My name is Amy and I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) practitioner working in Folkestone CT20 and Hythe CT21 in Kent. I also provide CBT online via Skype and video link.
I am the clinical lead for an NHS primary care service in Canterbury where I deliver group and individual therapy, drawing on the principles of CBT, ACT and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
I primarily support adults experiencing moderate-severe common mental health difficulties such as Depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and the full range of anxiety disorders including; Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Attacks and General Anxiety Disorder. In addition, I supervise a team of seven CBT Therapists, both trainee and newly qualified.
My approach is warm, non-judgemental and focuses on improving psychological flexibility and resilience. I am passionate about my role and committed to helping people achieve their valued goals in life.
I have completed additional training in supporting people with long-term physical health problems, mindfulness and have masters in Addiction Psychology & Counselling, accredited by the Federation of Drug & Alcohol Professionals (FDAP).
