My name is Anjali Mehta and I’m a qualified and BABCP accredited CBT Therapist working in Reading (RG1), offering sessions via Zoom and telephone at the moment.
I work with children, adolescents and adults who are managing anxiety (Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, phobias), PTSD, OCD, low self-esteem and depression. I also have a lot of experience in working with people with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
I charge £110 for Child and Adolescent CBT.
I am particularly interested in helping people to manage their worries, negative and self-blaming thoughts, and I like to take a more self-compassionate stance.
Research underpins so much of the therapy I provide, as CBT has shown to be effective for the above difficulties. I’ve personally been involved in a lot of research in the past, investigating new treatment protocols for adolescent depression, the effectiveness of online therapy, and looking at the stigma behind medically unexplained symptoms. I also teach low intensity CBT and supervise trainee CBT Therapists at a local university, which keeps me up to date with the latest research.
I take a warm and friendly approach, and believe that the relationship you have with your therapist is incredibly important. Whilst I will always be supportive and non-judgemental, I will also help you to notice unhelpful thoughts and behaviours to work on.
