St Sampson's GY2 4JB
My name is Dr Arthur Pearce and I am a fully qualified Clinical Psychologist, working in Guernsey (GY2). I also provide therapy online via Skype and video link.
I have expertise in carrying out psychological assessment and intervention for a broad spectrum of psychological difficulties, and have worked within child, adult, older adult, learning disability, forensic, and neuropsychological services.
I obtained my BSc in Psychology, and an MSc in Mental Health Psychology from the University of Liverpool. Following this, I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Birmingham and am currently working as a psychology lead within a Pain Management Service.
I have a special interest in physical health and have worked across inpatient and outpatient settings with individuals experiencing difficulties including depression, generalised anxiety, social anxiety, stress, anger, phobias, physical health problems, post-traumatic stress disorder, relationship/intimacy issues, grief, and chronic pain. I have expertise in delivering the following forms of therapy:
I appreciate how incredibly important it is to use interventions with a strong evidence-base, as well as the importance of a good relationship between client and therapist, and the ability to be flexible to meet the unique needs of each individual. As a result, I typically use a multimodal approach, often drawing upon Systemic, Psychodynamic, and Compassion-Focused Therapies alongside the core approaches I am skilled in delivering.
