My name is James McCandless and I am a fully qualified and BABCP accredited senior CBT Psychotherapist, working in Fulham, London SW6. I also provide CBT online via video link.
I have over ten year’s experience in therapeutic communities treating clients with complex and enduring mental health problems. My primary interests are in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Social Phobia.
In 2006 I worked for the Henderson Hospital in the NHS working with individuals experiencing Personality Disorders before joining the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies government initiative in London. In 2016 I joined an NHS Specialist Eating Disorder Service and I am currently providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for individuals experiencing eating disorders in the community; I also have additional training MANTRA for eating disorders.
I have been practicing CBT since 2008 and I have gained extensive experience of working with clients experiencing Depression and/or Anxiety problems. I also have experience of providing clinical supervision in CBT.
I work with adults, 18 and above and my approach to therapy is primarily CBT and I have a Person Centered Style.
I abide by the professional and ethical standards laid down by the BABCP and BPS and I have full professional indemnity and current DBS clearance.
