Think CBT - Westerham Clinic, Kent, TN16
My name is Lyn Snowden and I am a Chartered Consultant Counselling Psychologist and BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. I provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and counselling in Westerham Kent, TN16 and online via Skype and video link.
I have over 20 years experience in the treatment of a wide range of psychological and emotional problems.
In addition to being an HPC registered Consultant Counselling Psychologist with post-graduate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I have specialist training in Health Psychology and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR).
I work mainly with adults from different backgrounds and across a range of issues. As an integrative counselling psychologist, I am able to work with a number of approaches depending on people's needs and I am committed to offering a high standard of professional therapeutic care.
My therapeutic approach is primarily cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) but my training in Systemic, Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Health Psychology methodologies offers me a flexible approach which I tailor to meet individual needs.
I have experience in working with issues across a range of social, emotional and behavioural difficulties such as depression, and the anxiety disorders which include panic disorder, phobias, trauma related issues (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety disorder and generalised anxiety disorder.
I am on the British Psychological Society's Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS) and provide supervision and consultancy to psychologists, CBT therapists, psychotherapists and counsellors who may be either in-training or experienced practitioners.
I also offer therapy for in-training practitioners of psychology, psychotherapy or counselling.
I appreciate that people come to therapy for lots of different reasons and wanting different things, and therefore I am flexible and collaborative in my practice. I understand that people face diverse issues and pressures and have different tolerances and resources. Consequently, I take a holistic approach in understanding the unique experiences and issues that people present, including mental health difficulties, relationship struggles, past problems and social issues. This means that therapy is tailor made for each client using strategies and techniques that are best aimed at helping that person.
