My name is Michelle Williams and I've been a Psychologist for 20 years. I consider myself a very active participant in the therapeutic relationship - I won't just sit back and listen to your problems, I'll be in the trenches with you.
I work really intensely with people to meet their goals. I know that people have often suffered for some time before they pick up the phone to call, so I want to dig in and help to make lasting changes.
To me, our sessions are important and we can make good changes in that time, but the time in between our sessions is when life is lived. For that reason, each session I want you to learn a skill or a different way of looking at the world that you can practice in-between sessions and report back.
Because I'm a scientist, I like to work with data. Before you even come to see me, I'll ask you to complete a couple of assessments, and we will repeat those every 5-6 sessions to confirm your progress.
I work primarily from the third-wave Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) models - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
I really enjoy working with people with Bipolar Disorder and mood disorders (Depression, Anxiety, Phobia). I can help you with my accredited knowledge, but also with the experience of having helped thousands of people.
