My name is Veena and I am a fully qualified and BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist working from my consulting rooms in London (E1). I also provide CBT remotely via Zoom and Skype. For the past 7 years I have worked privately and within the NHS helping individuals to overcome depression and anxiety related difficulties.
My experience spans a variety of settings including the Anxiety Disorders Residential Unit, an NHS service offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for treatment-resistant anxiety-based problems, in particular Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), and I continue to deliver CBT to adults within the NHS.
I specialise in the treatment of Depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder, Anxiety - related to social situations, health related anxiety, phobias, OCD, BDD and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Additionally, I work with individuals who wish to improve confidence or self-esteem, manage stress related to exams, work, family or health conditions, reduce self-criticism, perfectionism or procrastination or overcome problems with sleep.
I’m also trained as a Yoga Therapist for Mental Health, an approach that combines techniques from yoga and mindfulness to address both the physiological and psychological aspects of increased stress. As a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and Yoga Therapist, I can work in a more integrative way using a combination of the two approaches. I also draw on mindfulness, compassion and acceptance-based approaches and by drawing on these different evidence-based ways of working, together we can develop a holistic, unique treatment plan that best meets your individual needs and enables you to work towards the changes that you would like to make.
I have a genuine curiosity to understand and help clients overcome difficulties and take care to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space. I am based in a psychotherapy practice next to Spitalfields Market, it is a short walk from Shoreditch High Street Station (2 minutes) and Liverpool Street Station (6-8 minutes). If you prefer, we can also work online via Skype or Zoom.
I am an accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP) and work within their Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
