Online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy –CBT On Zoom, SKYPE & Facetime

If you are looking for online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with a qualified and accredited CBT expert, then you are in the right place. The UK qualified CBT therapists on this registry service have all completed their post-graduate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training and achieved the rigorous professional accreditation standards laid down by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy.
Unlike other therapy directories, we ensure that all of the Cognitive Behavioural Therapists on this registry have been independently verified. This means that we have checked their qualifications and professional credentials as part of the application process. There are other popular psychology directories that provide verification by simply confirming email addresses and personal details. In our view, this is not adequate verification. If you want to work with a fully qualified and professionally accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, check the profiles on this registry for peace of mind and assurance.
You can view the featured online CBT therapists in the profile showcase on this page or browse our entire register using the “Find A Therapist” facility to find an online therapist that matches your needs. If you are not sure where to start and need help to choose an online therapist then complete the simple contact form at the bottom of the page and we will find a CBT Therapist for you.

What is Online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy?

Online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) involves delivering CBT usually via video link using platforms including ZOOM, SKYPE, WebEx, and Facetime. Sessions can also be delivered via phone where the client prefers this option or where an internet connection is not available.
The research evidence for online CBT demonstrates that it performs as effectively as direct therapy and that recovery rates and clinical outcomes are consistently good. The process works in the same way as face-to-face Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. The sessions follow the same CBT structure and supporting materials are shared on-screen or via email to support the process.

What Does Undertaking Online CBT Involve?

Online CBT usually involves completing an initial assessment, producing a clear therapy plan, and attending weekly online video or phone sessions where you will learn new techniques to tackle the problem. Your Cognitive Behavioural psychotherapist will help you to set specific goals, develop a clear understanding of the problem, produce a structured therapy plan, teach you how to use CBT techniques, and monitor your progress on a weekly basis. In addition to attending your online therapy sessions, you will be asked to undertake CBT assignments between appointments. These assignments can involve learning about CBT approaches, thought monitoring/change exercises, planned exposures to difficult or challenging tasks, simple experiments to test out how you think and act in certain situations and exercises to improve emotional wellbeing and resilience.

Through the course of the online CBT process, you will gain an insight into the causes and maintenance factors for the problem, you will learn new techniques to change the way you think, act and feel and you will develop an increased level of personal resilience to manage difficult and challenging situations as they arise.
